As you can guess by the title, I have some news about the blog that I’m pretty excited to share.
Robert from the amazing blog His Eyes Were Watching Movies and yours truly have decided to start a series together (yayyy!) wherein we look back at the history of cinema, focusing each time on one particular event in one particular year.
The series is titled (not-so-creatively) A Good Year and will start on the weekend, but the content will be more exciting than the title, we promise. In each episode, we’ll look at one trend, genre, filmmaker, actor, country or any other cinematic event that had a “good year” during that particular calendar year. Needless to say, we cover a lot of ground and our tentative episodes are vastly different in the range of films discussed. We’re also open to suggestions for the series so if you can think of anything, sound off and we’ll try to dedicate an episode to that as well.
Our first episode will look back at a very recent year and a short-lived trend that nevertheless made for great thrills for all cinephiles. So make sure to check back in and engage in our discussion!
